5 Great MMA Photos at UFC 138: Leben vs. Munoz from Sherdog

The main card had 5 finishes/stoppages. Every fight ended via submission or TKO. Now that’s an exciting fight card no matter what people thought before hand. I was really impressed with Terry Etim, Renan Barao, and Mark Munoz. They all made a statement and I’d be excited to see what they do next.

5 Great MMA Photos at UFC 137: Penn vs. Diaz from Mark J. Rebilas

There were moments of excitement in UFC 137. From the prelims with Donald Cerrone putting a kickboxing clinic against Dennis Siver to the battle between Mirko Cro Cop vs. Roy Nelson — there were glimmers of what I was looking for. But the biggest glimmer of all was with BJ Penn vs. Nick Diaz where Diaz shined like a bright star.

QUESTION: Finally, GSP vs. Diaz in February — are you excited? Who you got?

HBO’s Real Sports on Jay Glazer, MMA Trainer

Many of you know Jay Glazer from his job as a reporter on FOX NFL Sunday. Glazer has broken some of the top football stories in recent memory, including the NFL labor deal, the Plaxico Burress shooting and Spygate. But you may not know Glazer also doubles as a fierce and well-respected mixed martial arts trainer. Glazer has even used his experience in MMA to train some of football’s best.

All credit on this story goes to Bryant Gumbel and HBOʼs Real Sports, who did a great piece on the ethics of journalism and Glazerʼs close relationship with the athletes and coaches he covers. Head to HBO.com to find that story, but above is a video that shows Glazer training Packers All-Pro linebacker Clay Matthews. Note about halfway through the video when Matthews shows what a beast he is by actually puting a full dent in a Muay-Thai leg pad.
