Jose Bautista: Not a Man, Not a Beast, But Something Much Stronger
After five straight hitless games, Jose Bautista’s bat finally awoke. And it was a creature that opposing pitchers wished stayed dead. Bautista went 3-5 with two home runs including a grand slam in the seventh:

And a solo shot in the ninth:

Oddly enough, it was Bautista’s first home run to the opposite field this season. Which is one of the reasons that it’s doubtful that Bautista will approach the mid-50s again.
The Blue Jays added four more home runs in their undressing of the Twins 13-2.

In honor of Cito Gaston’s final home game of his managerial career, Travis Snider did the only sensible thing: he wore a fake Cito-style stache in tribute. The fauxstache must have given Snider great strength as he hit his thirteenth home run of the season in the Jays 8-4 victory against the Yankees.
Cito was given a wonderful sendoff by the Toronto fans and he couldn’t ask for much more as his playing-for-nothing team took down a Yankees club trying to win the East.

A walk off two-run homer by Adam Lind off Rafael Soriano gave the Blue Jays a stunning win over the Rays on Sunday. In the words of Lind himself: “it was awesome”

Want. No, need. I need a mustachioed Dave Stieb bobblehead. Any people in Toronto want to be super cool?
Totally awesome.

Time for a beer, I think.
