On Friday, March 30 Liván Hernández was released from his minor league contract by the Houston Astros. So the enterprising Hernández drove 15 miles northwest and stopped at the Atlanta Braves training camp — where they signed him to a $750,000 contract stacked with performance incentives. That’s a productive couple of hours.
Article here.
Note: I first heard the story while listening to the Cubs game on Saturday when their play-by-play team, Pat Hughes and Keith Moreland, brought it up and were suitably impressed. Moreland is a fantastic color guy, btw, replacing the legendary Ron Santo.

Have you ever wondered what it would look like if a bunch of heavily sedated prison asylum inmates decided to make a video Christmas card? It wouldn’t look much different than the Braves take on Jingle Bells. Seriously, check it out. And yes, this may be one of the few times that MLB.com has done us a service by not making the clip embeddable.

I don’t find this funny…
I’m pretty sure Red Sox and Braves fans are feeling like crap today and I don’t think they care about being reminded about this stuff.
I can’t even watch ESPN or MLB Network without being forced to see my team get made fun of.
I know this is supposed to be a joke, but I just don’t find it funny.

As a Mets fan, I feel your pain.
Sorry guys, it hurts like hell.
