    sportsinstilettos:

These are real, actual uniforms.
High schoolers are being forced to wear these. In public. As if being a teenager isn’t hard enough as it is.
Look at his face underneath that face mask? Does this dude look happy about it? I think not.
It reminds me of those weird and awkward body stockings that someone inevitably wears to every single game ever these days.
(There was someone in lime green one at USC-Syracuse last week. Can we talk about that for a sec? 1 - Neither USC nor Syracuse has green as one of their colors. So what? You went to the weird awkward body stocking store and they were sold out of the colors you wanted and you had to have one so badly you settled on lime green? 2 - Where do you get those? 3 - How do you get into them? So many questions that I probably don’t want answered, but I digress.)
Look, I’m into unconventional fashion. While I think Kate Middleton rocks it out in her prim and proper princess-wear, I personally really like combining plaid and stripes, or other patterns that really shouldn’t work together, and I thought Maryland’s Pride uniforms that everyone hated were awesome.
Everyone hates these bizarro uniforms, and in this case, I agree.
The only way these would be justified is if the entire team was being punished for unspecified “violations of team rules” but even then, I’m thinking it might fall under the cruel and unusual punishment category.
At least the school didn’t pay for these atrocious uniforms, because that would be a colossal waste of cash.
The uniforms were apparently donated by Prep and Sports, a Delray Beach nonprofit group, as well as a branch of the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce.
Did the Chamber of Commerce do this because they thought it would boost tourism, with people traveling from all over the world to ogle at these rare (for good reason!) uniforms?
Or were they donated because whoever made them looked at them and thought, “Hm. These don’t look quite as good in real life. No one’s going to buy them, so let’s ‘donate’ them to some unsuspecting team like we’re doing them a favor”?
And this photo is just one player. Can you even imagine what it’ll look like when the entire team full of football players is wearing these?
